Ruthie Olivia Blount was born 12 Feb 1895 in LLano or San Saba County, Texas. She died 11 Oct 1982 in Brady, McCulloch County, Texas. She was the daughter of James Koen Blount, Jr. and Martha Ann Davis. She married PATRICK HENRY DEW, Abt. 1920 in Brady, McCulloch County, Texas. He was born Abt. 1887 in Missisippi and died 05 May 1957, Brady, McCulloch County, Texas.
Ruthie and Pat had no children. Her health deteriorated greatly years after his death and she eventually had to have her legs amputated. She was in a wheel chair in a rest home for many years, but her mind stayed as sharp as a tack until the very end. Aunt Ruthie was a fiesty woman; and she along with her sisters Willie (Bill), and Mary ( Madie) were evidently the "hell-raisers" of the family. Very colorful stories of these three have been toid.
MARY FRANCES BLOUNT was born Mar 1898 in Texas. She was the daughter of James Koen Blount, Jr. and Martha Ann Davis. She married (1) CHARLES BAUMGARDNER. She married (2) CHARLES THOMPSON.
She was known as Mae, but Madie was the nickname most people used. It has been reported that she died in Yachats, Oregon. Charles Thompson is listed in the SSDI there, but nothing on her yet. Unable to lacate her in the census since 1910. Names of children came from nieces who knew them. Aunt Madie had many stories to tell that I hope to be able to one day find someone to repeat. I do remember her relating the viewing of the bodies of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. After they were killed, the bodies were placed in a nearby barn for a time and some of the local townspeople were evidently allowed to view the spectacle.

Her real name was Willie Cornelia Blount, but she was known as Bill or Billie; and "Billie" is what is on her tombstone. Her neices called her Aunt Bill. It is likely that her middle name came from her Aunt, Mary Cornelia Graves Blount, wife of Joseph Andrew Blount, who also lived in Brady, TX.
