The Dyches Family

My Great-great grandmother on my father's side was Lavica Ann Dyches Bingham. The first of this line that we currnetly know of is Josiah Dyches (Sr) and Lucinda Taliaferro, which were Lavica's grandparents. The family moved from South Carlolina to St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana after the Louisiana purchase. In 1819, Washington Parish was formed from the northern portion of St. Tammany; and the family either moved or was redistricted there. Josiah died about that time and Lucinda and many of her children moved to Texas about 1832. Her son, Joseph Josiah dyches fought in the Texas revolution against Mexico. After some time in Jefferson County, the family migrated to Williamson County, where they settled. My membership in the Sons of the Republic of Texas was obtained from this line. I have a copy of a document signed by Anson Jones in 1835 granting land to my ggggrandfather and ggggrandmother.
