All my life, I've been told that we were related to Doc Holliday. Now, I believe every family has at least one famous person in history that everyone swears they are related to. Most often, that tends not to be the case. It's kind of neat when you find out it's true, though. Doc Holliday was a 3rd cousin to my maternal great-grandmother Emily (Emma) Catherine Holliday and would be my third cousin three times removed. John Henry was not nearly so ruthless as has been romanticized by authors since his time. For a more realistic picture, I suggest the book "Doc Holliday - A Family Portrait" by Margaret Holliday Tanner.
My Holliday line begins with William Holliday and Ann Ayres of Ireland. William fought in the American Revolution.
